Do UV lights really work?

Studies prove UV filters work very well. The idea is this. The UV light is installed in the return plenum above the filter cabinet. UV light then shine on the bacteria and mold spores as the air passes through. This kills a great deal of the pathogens. The UV light also shines on the filter killing the pathogens resting in the filter. Since the total air in your house is filtered many times per hour, most air borne pathogens are removed from your air.
